Drawing on the Greek word \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cspan\u003ekaryon\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, meaning nut or kernel, the work reflects on the intricate geometries found in nature and the relationship between organic structures and human-made forms.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe edition dates from 2019, when Athanasios Argianas was the recipient of the Freelands Lomax Ceramics Fellowship at Camden Art Centre (2018–19). During his residency, Argianas explored the intersections of sculpture, music, language and functional design, developing works concerned with the physical and sensory properties of materials.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBorn in Athens in 1976, Argianas lives and works between London and Athens. His interdisciplinary practice encompasses sculpture, painting, text, performance and music.
