In this floor-based work, Ian Kiaer attunes our attention to scale and material with the schematic arrangement of found and cast rubber fragments. The suggestion of a Neoclassical building refers to the 18th Century French architect Claude-Nicolas Ledoux.

Ian Kiaer exhibited at Camden Arts Centre in 2005.

Ian Kiaer was born in London in 1971. He graduated from the Slade School of Art in 1995 and the Royal College of Art MA in 2000 and PhD, 2008. Kiaer's recent solo shows include Neubauer Collegium, Chicago ,2016; Lulu, Mexico City, 2015; Henry Moore Institute, Leeds, 2014; Focal Point Gallery, Southend-on-Sea, 2014; Centre International d'art et du Paysage, Vassivière, 2013; Aspen Art Museum, Aspen, 2012; Kunstverein, Munich, 2010; Galleria d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Turin, 2009; Bloomberg SPACE, London, 2009 and British School at Rome, Rome, 2005. Kiaer has participated in the 10th Lyon Biennale, 2009; the 4th Berlin Biennial, 2006; and the 50th Venice Biennale, 2005. His work is kept in public collections including: Tate, London; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Museum fur Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt; Pinakothek, Munich; Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; and Galleria Civica di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (GAM), Turin. He is represented by Alison Jacques gallery.
