Life Drawing: Responding to the Human Figure
Find a new way to draw in this 6 week course.
17 Sep–22 Oct 2026 (6 weeks)
Thursdays
6.30–8.30pm
At Camden Art Centre
This life drawing course, led by tutor Orly Orbach, is focused on the joy of making drawings from direct observation.
Whether you are a complete beginner, want to brush up on your techniques or are looking for a quiet space to create a new body of work, you will develop techniques for life drawing.
Over the course, participants will have the chance to explore a range of materials to capture the expressive human figure, including pencil, ink, charcoal and ‘reverse drawings’ – using pencil erasures.
Each session will include warm up exercises, quick gestural sketches and slower studies of longer poses. The class will study how to work with still postures, movement and proportion.
Students will come away from the course having developed their skills, intuition and confidence.
Models
This course features real life models across a variety of body types and genders. There will be elements of partial and full nudity.
