Aaron McPeake, Object #2
Sculptural object
Object #2 is a small sculptural work by Aaron McPeake, characterised by its irregular form, textured surface and visible markings. Its distinctive appearance invites close observation, drawing attention to the material qualities of the object and the traces of its making.
McPeake’s artistic practice explores the relationship between sculpture, sensory perception and physical experience. Working across sculpture, sound and installation, he is particularly interested in how artworks can be encountered through touch and hearing as well as sight. His sculptural works often emphasise the expressive potential of materials, their surfaces and the processes through which they are transformed.
McPeake has a longstanding relationship with Camden Art Centre. In 2013, he was commissioned to create Toll, an interactive artwork installed in the Centre’s garden. His practice has since continued to explore sensory engagement with sculpture, including his participation in Beyond the Visual at the Henry Moore Institute in 2025.
