This edition has been produced on the occasion of Nat Faulkner exhibition Strong water at Camden Art Centre, 15 January 2026/22 March 2026.

About the work

Emblematic of Faulkner’s interest in materials and their cycles of transformation, this photograph was taken by the artist at a scrap metal facility in Italy – the same site as depicted in the work Aqua Fortis (2026), presented as a large-scale print in his Camden Art Centre exhibition.

Captivated by the processes of analogue photography, the artist has hand developed and printed each individual photo of this Artist Edition in his London studio – in a process that embraces the environmental elements, which reveal and enshrine themselves through minor variations in each of the photographs produced.
